A major trigger for many people (me included) are dramatic changes in the weather (i.e. barametric pressure). Given the weather we have been having it might be valuable to include that information in with the food diary.
I'm home today with a migraine b/c of the weather change here.
I've got all kinds of triggers. Any food at all from Jason's Deli (which I love and can't have now), walnuts, pistachios, ball park hot dogs, the list goes on. I have more that I can't have than I can have.
Hope he finds more relief than I have found.

I have a lot of food triggers for my migraines. Bananas, milk, aged cheese, nitrates in any processed meats, preservatives... you name it, and I probably am allergic to it.
A food diary would be a good idea for him to do, but getting him to a doctor to do another MRI would be better.
If the emergency rooms won't do much when he tells them he has a migraine...my question is, has he actually been diagnosed by a doctor that he has migraines? If not, he better not say it is one. Just sayin'.

Is he on blood pressure medication?? Just wondering if that would be a problem as well. I remember when I was about 30 going to the ER because I swore I had a migraine for about 5 days, but here my blood pressure was 200/130. Check his bp as well.
Jenn_librarian:
Nope he is not on any blood pressure, everytime other than when he has a migraine it's normal. They check it everytime he's in for appts. and no one every says anything about it.
Well I thought I would post an update:
My husband has had another MRI done last month and everything came back fine. Also, last month he had an EEG done, it came back fine.
He had to take a leave of absence from work because he's used all of his FMLA just in less than 3 months.
So he doesn't have short term disability but he does have long term and he's looking at applying for that.
It's going to be a long haul so I might end up getting another job but the part that sucks with that is my sciatica is getting aggravated again so standing for more than 20 mins or so hurts like, well I won't say exactly what but it hurts. The current doctor/surgeon I see for my back won't give me any meds to deal with the pain and I can't take ibuprofen because I had the lap-band done which right now seems like I shouldn't have done so I could take the ibuprofen to get the inflammation to stay down. I want to go see a dr. that someone on here recommended to me but he's 3 hours and 45 mins. away and with gas prices I just can't see going that far right now. I've tried to find some local pain management people and the 1 place has a wait till August and they only do injections which I've done but they don't seem to help at all now. I have checked a little further away but I just don't know what I'm going to do, my regular family doc won't give me anything either. So I'm not sure where I'm going to turn just yet.
I'm trying to get Phoebe a forever home...although not many seem interested. I'm trying to get some rent assistance if that's possible...I'm worried and I know my husband is worried and he's listed some of his cards from Magic online so that $$ will help short term at least.
I guess I just needed to vent some of this out there for now.
Thanks for listening,
Melissa
Have either of you thought about alternative medicine? Chiropractic? Homeopathic? I think if mainstream isn't doing anything for you, its time to try something else.
Someone close to me recently told me the thing that helps her migraines the most is a super strong antiinflammatory. She takes it (name escapes me) and two alleve gel caps, and it will go away. She has suffered from migraines for years. She also will take the imitrex...on occasion.
