Can't write much, typing through tears. Once again bless you Diana & Carl, it's so good to know the pups are with you and settling in fine so far.

As long as you have Cinder & Smoke you will always have a piece of Phred with you. You know he will be checking in on them from time to time. Were you able to bring something from Phreds home that they would have for themselves? A favorite blanket, bedspread, pillow or anything with the "home" smell on it? Something to remind them of their "Dad"? One of his caps that he wore would be perfect if there is anyone who could send it to you..
God Bless you for taking them in as your own. That is all any of us can hope for if we suddenly have to leave our furry companions behind. Someone who could take then in and love them the way we did, remembering how much they meant to us.
As long as I have Boo, I know I have a piece of Mama with me. I know how much Mama loved her and the joy she brought Mama. I love Boo for that and how happy she made Mama and want her to have the best life possible until her time to go join Mama. When her time comes, I want to take her ashes to put with Mama.

Diana I can't write much since I'm off to work and don't want to cry too much. So I just wanted to say thank you once again![]()
Huney, Bon & Simba-missed so very much
Remembering all the Rainbow Bridge Pets
Oh those sad puppy eyes of Cinder's made me cry again. Please pass along some ((((hugs))) to Phred's pups. Phred, we miss you!!!!!!
In these sad times it is good to hear that Cinder and Smokey are with you and happy to share their home with your doggies.
Thankyou so much- it is a big relief.
I remember how much it impressed me when Phred was going to take Bowser in who was alone after his dad passed. Now it is his dogs who have a home thanks to Pet Talk.
Diana- I would like to attend the funeral. Are you going to go? Anyone else? Also, will there be a dedication and burying of the ashes at Findlay this spring? To whom will the ashes be entrusted?
Johanna
I can answer that Jo.
Yes, we are going to the funeral as long as the weather cooperates. As long as we do get to go I'm going to ATTEMPT to record the funeral on my camera to upload. I might be a crying mess so I can't make any promises. Last I talked to Diana the funeral was @ 11am on Wed the 29th.
We are going to do a Memorial of some kind over memorial Day weekend. We are going to try to make it the biggest yet. I believe Diana is going to keep the ashes until then.

Godspeed Phred and Gini you will be missed more than you ever know..
I think I speak for everyone on Pet Talk when I say how incredibly wonderful it is of you and Carl to take in Cinder and Smokey. I too, feel that Phred must have had a talk with them and explained that they would be living with you now and to be good dogs.
It is so comforting to know that they are alright and well loved because they represent all that we loved about Phred and the prayers that he offered for us in their names.
This thread just gives me leaky eyes, I cannot type any more.
I can't believe this.Phred is really gone.
I just got done reading through all the posts and it's still very hard to believe. I am in tears. Pet Talk will never be the same without him here.

2 Virginia Opossums, 6 cats, 4 bearded dragons, 1 iguana, 1 red foot tortoise, 1 tripod chihuahua, 5 mice, dubia and hissing cockroaches as well as other misc animals that wander in and out of my home.
I'm at a loss for words.
I'm grateful that I got a chance to meet him in person. He really was a great man. But everyone on PT knows that.
Thank you, Diana, for taking in the prayer pups. Phred would be pleased.
We will all miss his stories and generosity. We could never give him as much as he gave us.
Rest easy, Phred. Enjoy the furry friends and keep in touch!
