Pjevs is a Danish word often used for kittens or any little creature evoking sympathy, baby talk, and a need to pick it up and cuddle it. Where in English you might use "Oh you poor little ragamuffin / sweetiepie / I could just eat you up etc". When he came to the house he had been living outside, and looked rather pathetic. When Kate split from her husband, the father of the kids, he wouldn't let Pjevs in the house, and the kids had to smuggle food out to him. By the time Kate won the house and kids back, he looked even more 'Pjevs'-y than before. Now he is in fine shape (and thanks for the compliments), and by muscleing in on Tilde's feeding times is beginning to find the cat door a tight fit. His reaction to the kittens is to be absent. If it is not raining, he just stays out all day, and generally pretends the whole thing is not happening. Things may be different when they start walking around the place, which is going to be soon. They are all trying to get up and go!
