I'm so sorry Val I know what you mean about letting them go in their sleep its so hard to make that decision. I don't know anything about larynginal paralysis but I will keep praying for him.

Thinking of you and Dasher, wondering how he's doing this morning.

Much thanks to you all. Last night was a hard one. I had to work. I just talked to the vet. He's doing much better. He's been off oxygen since 4 and no panting. But he hasn't been moving, either. Surgeon comes in sometime in the afternoon and he'll decide when or if the surgery is needed. I know it is. He's been panting a lot the last few days. Thanks to everyone. I know I don't get here a lot but its so good to come here. The house is so quiet today. I've got one of his favorite stuffies with me on the bed.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.

Oh, I am just seeing this. I am so sorry you are having to go through this Val. I will keep you and Dasher in my thoughts and hope for a quick full recovery.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Thanks again I talked to the surgeon. He says sometimes they never find what causes this. I had forgotten about Dasher starting to stumble the last few days until he asked me if Dasher had been falling or having trouble walking. His right back leg gives out just a little every once in a while. Its possible this is a neurological problem and that could get worse. Or maybe enough oxygen wasn't getting to his brain? Anyway, tomorrow morning I sign papers for his operation. He'll have to stay there at least one night, maybe two. I have to work tomorrow night but I'm off next two days. Taking tonight off. I'm going to go see him in just a bit and I'll give him all the love he's gotten here  I'm going to go get our pics after the vet. I'm so glad I did that. The main thing is him waking up from being put under. Its rough on older dogs and he's almost 12. Life is full of chances. I took a chance adopting him. Now one more. He's worth it.
