Katie, my mom and I faced the same thing with one of her cats...he had had surgery, and we found out it was cancer. It would take a while to come back, but he still had to be syringe-fed. We decided that it would be cruel to wait til all the cancer came back and he was really suffering.

It is even harder to put a beloved kitty to sleep when he is still sort of ok (and he was a very loved kitty that had belonged to my late sister), but kinder to do it.

You did the right thing. Many many prayers for you and your family's hearts right now.
