Did your brother see Pike's parents? How large were they? Pups usually end up somewhere between their parents. But he may even take after a distant relative. Ryleigh's litter mates are all 5.5-6+ pounds and Ryleigh is only 3.25 pounds. I do have a friend who has a chi that is 16 pounds so he may just be a big boy

Well my brother told me he's a deer chihuahua. Although I know that's supposed to be the shape of there head, and not the size. My brother got him from his friend, which is a very BYB. They don't have a clue about responsible breeding. My brother said the mom was about 4lb and the dad is about the size of Sage (my sheltie) All I could say was WOW I suprised the mother didn't have to have C-section. Although I do not agree about where Pike came from, he is really a awesome pup!
Thanks so much Ashley for the siggy!
Zoey Marie NAJ NA RN (flat-coated retriever)
Wynset's Sam I AM "Sage" RA (shetland sheepdog)

Yes "deer type" does refer to the head shape, but it can also refer to the legs(they have longer legs unless they are a cross they can have the apple head and long legs or visa versa) Wow is right, I cannot believe she did not have to have a cesarean section too Well regardless Pike is absolutely adorable and I just love his markings/coloring. He looks like such a sweetheart
