Dear Melissa & Rob, {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

I SO know what you've gone thru and are going thru. A few years ago a stray came into my life, a white and gray boy who I named Baby Boy. He was already neutered. Some one moved away and just left him to fend for himself outdoors.

He was a bad boy, marking everything in sight—inside as well! But he made up for that by being a love bug and a playful bugger. The vet estimated his age as between 6 or 8 yr.

About 2 years after he came he started to get sick, similar to your baby Anika. I did what you did. Vet visits, lab work, the A/D food, force feeding…. But there came a time that I had to make the decision. It was hard in a way, but then again I didn’t want Baby Boy to suffer anymore than he was. Friends kept telling me that I did all I could do for him and that was more than his previous owner. That comforted me, knowing that I gave him a better life than if he were outside alone.

I know it’s hard and it hurts, it hurts every time. You’re not human if it doesn’t affect you.

Know that Anika had your TLC and continue to give that TLC to your other babies! And don’t be surprised if they return it. They have an uncanny way of knowing when you need comforting and TLC.
