It's an age old debate that I encounter all the time, especially when dealing with reactivity and aggressive behavior problems.

There are essentially two schools of thought: compulsory training and positive reinforcement training. Most people follow positive reinforcement techniques. Most people will use appropriate punishment along with pos. reinforcement. However, some folks still believe that dogs are 100% wolf and act 100% like a mature, adult wolf and need to be dominated through compulsory (positive punishment) training - and without treats.

Whatever. I know of a local, compulsory trainer, and her results are shaky and shoddy at best. MY personal experience.
