Technically, Ozzy is a foster because we have a 3 dog limit in my city. But I spoke with the rescue group and he is no longer posted for adoption. He is here to stay! I never announced it, you didn't miss anything. That happened back on March 27th. I did this for Ozzy.
At 15 +, he can't see well, can't hear well, sometimes gets "lost" in my kitchen and cries until one of us gets him and reorients him. I've noticed when he walks he keeps close to a wall or the furniture. It wasn't right that he may have to learn a new home at this age! Plus, the rescue kept saying he was ideal for a single, older person. In that case, Ozzy would just sleep his life away! With 3 other dogs and (now) 11 cats, he is at least alert and listening, trying to follow what is going on. Sugar is just fantastic with him! When I take the 4 dogs for walks, she lets Ozzy put his shoulder to her rear hip and he follows her along!
Adopting a 15 year old with all his health issues is a huge undertaking, both financially and emotionally. I felt it was the best thing for Ozzy. And to me, that is part of rescue: doing what is right for this animal at this time.
Thanks for asking!
