    You'd think they had some humane plan for them when they're retired.

    I'm sure the military have trained people for explosives detection and attacking as well, and they don't euthanize them when they retire, do they??

    Most of the time when a dog retires the handler takes them. Its very odd for the handler not to be able to do so.
