I just now found out that this thread is about Mila! And I'm in contact with Jane, and we will soon figure out when Mila is coming to Ann Arbor. She's gonna be a Wolverine! (Go Blue!)
And I want to repeat Mary (Medusa)'s sentiment about critters. God bless you, Lee!

Well, there seems to me some major confusion regarding Mila and her placement. I agreed to drive over 700 miles to retrieve this kitty and bring her back to Michigan, and had said I would be working some OT to "help" cover some of her vet bills, but now the expectation is that I take her to the vet and pay for the vet bill altogether, with her foster mom "chipping in". This is all thanks to somebody, who shall remain nameless, on the handicappedpets.com group, that told Pat, Milas prospective foster mom, that "we" would be taking Mila to an internal medicine vet for work-up. WE WHO??? This person seems to think she can offer my services and my money without even asking. It seems that this person was more than a little confused-I agreed to pick Mila up-PERIOD! And although I dont mind helping with the vet bill, I cannot foot the bill alone.
I am tired of trying over and over again to help, and getting screwed over in the longrun.
Jane, I probably misunderstood about vet care for Mila. If so, I'm sorry if I said anything that sounded like I expected you were going to take care of that. Please do not feel you are expected to do so. Just your going all the way to Chicago to get her and bring her back has already been a massive contribution to her safety and well-being.
Let's arrange a time and place for me to collect Mila from you very soon. I'm so much looking forward to meeting her!

Just wanted to post an update on Mila. I have kept in close contact with Mila's mom, Beka, over the past week and have been giving her daily updates on how Mila is doing.
Mila has fallen head over heels for a CH kitty who is in my care. They have become the best of buddies and they eat and sleep together. Mila had an episode the other day that appeared to be a seizure. She spent about 1/2 day sleeping after the episode, then was back to her normal self. Beka had mentioned that Mila had these seizure-like episodes before, so I just monitored her afterwards, and she recovered without any problems.
Beka and I have discussed Mila's future, and have decided that Mila will be staying with me. Another move would not be good for her, and like I said, she has fallen in absolute LOVE with my CH kitty, and they have become fast friends, and it would be hard to separate them at this point.
Mila will receive the best vet care possible-I have had a vet offer free lifetime vet care for her. I told him about her story and he said he would be more than happy to provide her care free of charge.
Beka-Thank you for allowing me to care for your baby. She is one special girl!
Jane
Free lifetime vet care? That's one special vet there! I'm so glad that things are working out and now to know that Mila will get such good, regular care just puts the cherry on top. Great news!![]()
Blessings,
Mary
