I understand the contract was not followed and I'm sure the rescue will say that it was breach of contract. And they have every right to take the dog back because she signed a contract and did not follow it. If they bend the rules for someone famous, they'll say they'll have to bend them for everyone.
BUT
In this case, they should give the dog back to her hairdresser.
Ellen was responsible enough to pay a trainer to work with the dog to try to make it work out. It's not like she didn't try to make it work nor did she give the dog to a stranger.

Ellen should have gone about it differently, and she knows that now.

I'll be waiting to see how this ends up.
