The last place I worked ran their own crematorium and had two options...a private cremation, where they did exactly that and gave you back YOUR pet's ashes...or a communal cremation, which was inexpensive, and many animals were cremated together and each owner got some of the mixed ashes.
I don't know how most crematoriums operate, but it seems that if they're going to do communal cremations they need to let the owners know.
This place...I don't even have words for this...it makes me want to cry just thinking about it.

I always do private cremations and have Casey's cremains to prove it. Because I move around alot (or did up until now) I could never bury my pets. Having Casey's ashes in a beautiful wooden box with a gold heart on it gives me reassurance.
