Oh, Phred. I am so sorry to hear this sad news. My heart breaks for you a thousand times over. For Boots, for Bowser, for you. There are things we just never fully understand, and our first thought is to turn inward and question. It isn't you. You are one of the most kindest, gentlest people I know. God doesn't punish. Not you or your furkids. I know you know that. It was Boots time. He went with compassion, and love. We all should be so lucky. You did all that you could, and sometimes, that isn't enough.

You are in my thougths and prayers.

Phred, I am so sorry to hear about Boots. It is never nice to lose a pet but losing two in one summer has to be dreadful.

Here is a poem I found recently about the loss of a son. All you have to do is place cat in the place of son. I hope it helps.

He Only Took My Hand

Last night while I was trying to sleep my son's voice I did hear.
I opened my eyes and looke around but he did not appear.
He said, "You've got to listen. You've got to understand;
God didn't take me from you. He only took my hand.
When I cried out in pain that night, the instant that I died,
He reached down from heaven and took my hand, and pulled me to his side.
My body so badly wounded, I could never be the same.
