I think so too. But he cliams he is fed up with NASCAR and their debris cautions (can't argue with that!). He also says the media thing afterward is requested, but not mandatory. I can understand him not wanting to talk to the media, but I would have felt better if he had congratulated Jeff before he took off (and maybe he did and I couldn't see it)

I only listened to the first hour, then I had to watch House

basically what I had in my post above. He was frustrated with NASCAR about all the debris cautions and was afraid if he went to the Media Center he would make an "a$$" out of himself and he has learned when he is that hot about something it is better to not say something that willg et him in trouble later. He was also updet about fans disresepcting Jeff and Jr. by throwing trash out on the track during the voctory lap. I didn't see that, but we were down in Turn 4, and that must have been on the front stretch. He said he was happy for Jeff, happy with the way the car ran and thought it was a good come back after the disaster at Texas. His frustration is with the made up cautions for debris the TV camera can't even find.

Okay, Tony may have gone over the top with the comments about racing being fake like wrestling, but his point is still valid, and people on TV and the radio have been talking about the debris cautions all season. Nascar may have reprimanded Tony, but at they same time, I have to think they are listening. If there was no validitity to the claim, and he was just a hothead making excuses, they wouldn't have reacted.

His appraoch may have been wrong, but I don't disagree with the message. I was sitting in the stands in Phoenix and would look at the lap count and think...it has been about 60 laps since the last caution, and green flag stops are going to start happening...sure enough the caution would come out. There was not a full set of green flag stops in the whole race, and only 2 wrecks.....

Tony Stewart is right about NASCAR throwing yellows.

Last week, during the race, one of the announcers made a comment like, "If we can find the debris, we'll show it to you."

I thought that was a really odd statement to make, especially on a small track.

I didn't think about it until I read about the fine and I remembered the caution and the comment..

Tony's fine was for skipping the post race interviews, not for his comments. His hour long lecture, at 6am Friday and the delay to his team unloading was due to his comments. He's been invited to watch the next Busch race from the Nascar tower so they can "explain" to him how they call a race. A little brainwashing, perhaps? Ironically, I don't notice very many debris cautions called during Busch races....

But what about the finish today!! So great to see Tony and Bobby as teammates again, even in the Busch series. Reminds me of Tony's early JRG days.

Guess they need to start making the tracks a can free zone: no beer or soda cans or any other allowed. Only pop in paper cups sold at the track.

Can't do a whole lot of damage with a paper cup unless it gets stuck on the front grill of a car or something like that.

They do that at the football games in KC. (or they used to)
