This thread brought back a funny memory. I came from a dog family; had dogs all my life. Once I was out on my own, I didn't really have the life style for a dog, so I lived alone for several years. I moved to RI and there were stray cats living in the parking lot, eating out of the dumpster. Some of the tenants put out kitty food. One cat caught my eye and, make a long story short, over 3 months I made contact with him and brought him in. My first cat!

Next morning, I took him in to the vet. After checking him out, informing me I had a HE (already neutered) not a SHE, and giving some shots, the vet told me, "Bring him back in 2 weeks for his next round of shots. Meanwhile, keep an eye on him, and when you come back let me know anything unusual."

And I replied, "Doc, everything he does is unusual. I mean, he doesn't bark, he meows!"

Nine cats and 13 years later, my vet STILL reminds me of this!

Two of my guys know how to open cupboards, one even knows how to open the door above the oven. What are they after, treats of course. I now have to keep the treats in the crock pot with the lid on. Otherwise they would have no daily treats......a rather spoiled group in this house. My beloved Tuxie (RIP) had a fondness for yeast rolls and was known to climb in the truck of the car and root around until he found them. Then he would eat the tops off of them. People don't know what they are missing unless they are owned by a cat.

One of my guys has developed a fondness for tortilla chips I have to admit that I will break them into relatively small pieces for him just so he can eat them. Oh the things we do for our guys

My Carly has a fondness for tortilla chips also. In addition to broccoli (raw and cooked), cole slaw, carrots, green beans, chips, dip, and the list goes on. Oh, and if we order take out from Cheddars, we get an extra dinner portion of the salmon to share with her and the 10 others. What we do for the love of our babies............

My two doofuses Bubba and Pink Nose MUST quality-check every new bag of food! I always find a big hole in it, with the two fatties chowing down. Never mind that it is the exact same kind of food that's in the bowl. ("But it's a different batch, Meowmie!")

Bubba also holds down the food dish with his paw so it won't escape.

Mobius and Bosun sometimes scoop food up with their paws and eat it.

Smokey the Younger likes to drink from the tub faucet (and ONLY that faucet!)

Ebony (RB) used to wash my hair.

Luna, Diamond, and Pink Nose mooch for whipped cream.

Luna eats bananas(!) Maybe he craves potassium being a kidney cat.
I've been finally defrosted by cassiesmom!

One of my cats, Freckles, likes to groom my hair Another one, Sheba, likes to chew on the ends of my hair; but only when it's wet Watch out for Dimples, if you bed over near one of her high resting spots, you end up with a passenger on your back
    Too many pets? What's that?

My one cat Bookie loves green olives. My other cat (grey and white)BooBoo treats celery leaves like catnip Which I find very strange.

When my alarm goes off BooBoo will jump up on the dresser and continue to knock things off until I get up. This same cat loves to take bathtub showers. He will put his whole head under the bathtub faucet and let the water run down his head then he will drink from the faucet.

Eepie will walk through the entire apartment at about five in the morning "singing". She goes from room to room just meowing in her high-pitched voice. I used to get up and check on her, to see that they had food and water, etc. but finally, I realized she doesn't want to play, that's just the best singing time, I guess!

I'm sure my other girls have strange habits too....I'll have to think on it a while. It's just Eepie's sticks out in my mind - seeing as how it used to wake me up every morning
Proud meowmy of Weezie, Eepie, Grey Girl and Neko...or Weezer Peezer, Eepie Peepie, Grey Grey and Neko the Gecko as they are commonly known!

Cosmo hates humidifiers. If I have one going, he will bop it with his head until he tips it over.

Clover says "Mama" all the time (it sounds a bit more like Prraama, bit it's still the same!) and both her and Echo have designated each others bowls. Clover eats from teh bowl farthest from the corner, and Echo nearest. I had absolutely no hand in this! And if one starts eating from the other's, they both get agitated!
They both will run around screaming like maniacs through the house, which reminds me greatly of little five-year olds chasing each other aroudn the house.
Clover loves to come up to me and cuddle for only about ten-twenty minutes at a time before running off again, then ten minutes later jumps back on my chest and begins again.
Echo is a tunneler, under rugs, blankets, you name it, she can get under it somehow. She especially enjoys the rug in the bathroom and will follow you in when you take ashower, hide under the rug, and when you step out blind, you have to be really careful not to step on her. She attacks the rug more than people passing by, though.
And they both look at the shower like the most intriguing thing in the world until they get splashed, which is taken as a totally new experience each time.

After Smudge goes #2 he walks into the middle of the apartment and meows two or three times, like an announcement. Given that I was worried about his digestion for a while, I think he's just signaling "(whatever) o'clock and all is well!"

Taz can open the bathroom cabinet in the back bathroom (it's okay, there is nothing in there that would hurt him, we actually don't really use that bathroom on a daily basis). When Taz and I first moved in I kept yelling, "Who keeps leaving this cabinet open!?!?". Well, with my boyfriend and I being the only humans in the house, I eventually figured it out. LOL
He likes to hide in that cabinet when something is stressing him out.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!
