I was thinking about that too. I took Graham to the vet for this because he was doing it more then usual. It sounds like they are choaking and it sounds aweful, but if this is what it is, then you have nothing to worry about, unless it gets way too frequent. Graham's vet gave him an antihistyme for when he does that "post nasal drip" noise.Originally posted by Cincy'sMom
If the sound is what I am thinking of, it is called a reverse sneeze. Although it sounds bad, like snorting or inhaling air, it is normal and not harmful. Sadie and Cincy both did it a lot when they were puppies, but don't as much now.

If this is what Simba is doing, Graham's vet told me that it's kind of similar to taking a small sip of water and having it go down the wrong tube, but with them, it's typically their nasal drainage that goes down the wrong tube.
Let us know. Maybe you should call your vet and see what they think. Maybe they'll talk to you over the phone?
