It looks like razor burn from the shaving to place the catheter, mixed with like you said having tried to hit the vein a few times. also could be from someone scrubbing way to hard to clean the area. ouch! might try some neosporine(sp?)cream on it.

It looks like a razor burn to me too- having sighthounds- that is what it looks like. When she is asleep, put some neosporon it on.. or vaseline- if she wakes up- rub her head so she goes back to sleep..
Femka has the same in her dental- two days neosporan when asleep, it worked. I hope she feels better.

Thanks for the replies, guys! It cleared up after a day or two and I didn't see any marks so I'm pretty sure it wasn't razor burn. She's alright now. I just can't wait until her fur grows back.![]()
