David, I sang in Christmas Cantatas for YEARS in church, and every year I was fighting a sore throat or laryngitis! The weather and all of the rehearsals always overwork your voice! Try to drink some warm tea and suck on lemon drops and also they used to sell some spray but I can't for the life of me remember what it is called! Sorry!
