Chocolatepuppy~ I know that song, and I heard the song while I read your post.
To this very day, I cannot listen to Ray Charles singing his well known song "Georgia", without thinking of my beloved Foxy Jean.
I say now Foxy~~~~~Foooxxxyyyy~
No Peace,------- No Peace can I find,
But an ol sweet song,~~~~~~~ leaves Foxy on my mind.
I say Foxy (piano) , Fooo0xxxyyy, a song of you,
Sounds so sweet and clear, like moonlight on the pines~~~~
Other dogs reach out to me,
And their eyes smile tenderly,
But in "Peaceful " dreams I seeee, The Road~~~ Leads Back ~~~~to YOU~
I say Foxy~~~~Fooooxxxy,
No peace,------ no Peace will I find,
Just an ol sweet song, leaves Foxy on my mind ~~~~~
I say, ---just an ol sweet song, leaves Foxy on my mind.( and I can still see her, parading ahead of me, with her tail curled up so high)
Dukedogsmom~(blows nose, then wipes eyes) Let's pass up on the kleenix this Christmas and actually open up the glorious gift that our Beloved Rainbow Dogs gave to us~ It is so empressive !!!! These dogs will forever be a part of us. ( piano keys,~~ closing of the song) I now feel so whole. I now understand what Christmas can become.

I can hear you singing that song.
There will be quite a few of us having bittersweeet holidays this year, our beloved pet gone...and a new pup in our lives. {hugs} all around.

You guys have me in tears now! (((hugs chocolatepuppy, dorothy 39, and dukedogsmom))))) Almost one year since my ChowChow kitty joined my Rosie at the RB. And Rosie had a song, too, by Tom Waits. Can't recall the title, but "Rosie" is who he sings about.

I miss you
