Dry Kibbles

I feed Canidae kibble. The coat and skin is great and he does very well on this. I have tried a number of the others mentioned here and he either didn't like them or they didn't agree with him at all. I can remember that California Natural gave him gas like you wouldn't believe! I thought I actually had a sewer leak! LOL! Innova was the same. I pay $24.98 for a 20lb bag (in the U.S.)

I just switched to Canidae from Nutro. I thought it was going to be really expensive, but when I compared prices for the same sized bag, I was only paying about $3 more for Canidae than I was for Nutro!

Yes, it's very reasonable isn't it.

That, and I believe it's better to give a dog variety and like to rotate foods around. She can handle it easily and prefers it this way too. Feeding kibble, it is difficult to give her variety and this is the only way that I can give her some sort of variety.

Have you tried mixing a small amount of canned with her kibble for variety?
Just a small amount to give it a different taste? That's what I do as Bailey is sooo picky that I'd be switching kibble all the time. And it's not because I spoiled him or anything, he's just picky. And the small amount of canned of different varieties doesn't upset anything with him. I had, in the past switched a number of times and just had so many brands of kibble around it was getting expensive to find something that he would continue to eat. I donated what I had left over of the kibble to the local humane society.

She get's all sorts of things mixed in (egg, canned, carrots, chicken, etc.). She's just not big on eating and finds it to be a waste of time it seems. She's healthy, she just doesn't enjoy eating and the only way to keep her eating okay is to rotate her kibble every so often .

That's what I used to think too until I got her. She's been like this since she was a pup and has been to the vet a few times since then just to make sure she's healthy and that there isn't anything causing her not to eat. I'm not sure if she'd actually starve herself, but she has gone about 4 days without eating much of anything until I went and got her something else. The vet says she's perfectly fine and that some dogs just don't enjoy eating if they know that they could be playing or doing something else instead.

Anyway, I don't want to get this thread any more off topic than it already is..

Do you have a Costco near you? My parents feed the Kirkland brand food to Reggie and Sydney and for the price its much better than other foods in that price range ($17.99 for 40 lbs I believe). Here's the only ingredient list I could find http://www.woodhavenlabs.com/images/...nd-chicken.jpg No, its not Canidae, Innova, Timberwolf Organics, etc....but I would choose that over Iams.

Yes, I know what you mean.
Eating is not high on Bailey's list of things to do either.
He has been known to even not eat chicken and other meat(s).
But I guess I'd have to say that if he had a favorite food it would have to
be plain yogurt.

Eukanuba ......no and Iams is the same as Eukanuba except with different
packaging and Eukanuba is a little more expensive. Both are made by the same company. Has corn in it. lThe two of these foods are not very good.
There's so many good foods out there without buying something like Iams or Eukanuba.

I found a site that said a very approximate guess is that you will get 2 cups to every pound of food. I'd still like to know about the Timber Wolf Organics though!! I went to Petsmart today and the only decent food they had there was Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice. If I can't afford Solid Gold or TWO then I'll probably end up getting the Blue.
