A camera takes pictures..a oil painting is ALOT different and ALOT nicer. Also I think you ment can not cant.

dont get me wrong, oil painting is nice, but im not going to pay for a copy for myself! I want my copy for FREE, i dont care who they sell it too, but i want a copy and i want it for free! My camera does just fine for me and if worse come to worse...ill use it! I mean i paid alot for my camera and if you cut me to the chase...ill use that camera until it works no more!! and i get to take those pictures...for FREE-it's pretty amazing!

I don't understand...

This person is an artist - who needs photos of animals as references. He/she will be painting your animals (if he/she chooses) in ARTWORK, not just a photo. He/she will put their hard work and talent into it - certainly not something I'd expect for "free."


Just my opinion, as an artist myself, and with many friends trying to make a living with their art. I wouldn't expect someone to give me a hand-out just for using my photos are a reference.

thats awesome that your an artist, but im cheap! im not going to pay for artwork unless i cant live without it or it's some special circumstance! i do just fine with pictures off my digital camera! and what i ment was...i give them permission to use my dogs for oil painting, but i only give them permission to use them if i get a picture for myself...for free! does that make sense? hope so!

Doesn't necessarily make sense to me, as I know how it is to be an "artist" (everyone's always wanting handouts) but, I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree.

the only reason i aggree, also being cheap is i dont live with my parents...havent for a while now! i have bills..bills...bills...!! oh did i mention bills! i have medical bills, rent, vet, mediacome, utilities, car bills....just to name a few! i just dont have the money to spend it on artwork! thats all

We all have bills sweetheart, including myself (I pay for everything I own including everything for my 3 dogs) and I'm sure the original poster does as well - hence the reason they try to make money selling their artwork. THAT'S my point.
