I am so sorry for your loss and know how you feel. Your Hugo looks so much like my Persie who's mate, Tuxie Balls, we lost a little over a year ago to a speeding car. Persie was a feral that I spent months feeding and working on getting from our bushes to our porch and the to allow me to pet. Tuxie Balls was a skinny, skinny, semi-feral that was always with her. He became social and extremely affectionate quickly. We had them both spayed and neutered and welcomed them into our cat family. Tuxie Balls didn't want to stay in all the time and really would raise cain to get out. Anytime we were out, he expected to be with us especially if we were grillinig. He was out with us grilling the night he got hit. We think the neighbor two doors down chased him and he ran into the road and get hit. Someone saw him get hit and stopped and found us. We spent that night and the next two days looking for him. I would go to work very early so I could leave early and spend the afternoon and evening looking for him. All I asked God for was to let me find him. He showed up in another neighbor's yard 2 & 1/2 days later. I left work and took him to our vet. She said he would need to have his right leg amputed and his tail if he made it through the night. I/we didn't care if he no tail and one less leg........we loved him. Unfortunately the next morning the vet called and said he had internal injuries and there was nothing to be done. I went and held my baby as he passed on to Rainbow Bridge. I still have the pants I wore looking for him in the woods, my "tuxie pants" and a box of his favorite toys. Our memories comfort, sometimes sadly, but they do,............ let your memories comfort you........
