Females, for sure. I've had male dogs before, and while I love them, there are a lot of qualities that I don't like aswell. I only want one more male dog in my lifetime. In 'my' breed (Toller) the females are smaller, more agile, loving but independent at the same time (males are like velcro...I like to have some space), more active, and they seem to put more 'umph' into anything they do. Though, they are more difficult to train as they aren't as willing to please as the males are but I can live with that and actually prefer it to a dog with an "I'll do anything to please you, just ask!" sort of attitude. Of course, I'm just speaking in general and this doesn't apply to all males or females but this is what I've experienced.

i personally prefer males..ive only owned one female infact (chloe) , the rest have been males..i dont know, theres just somthing i like more about a male dog. in my experiences males have always been more lovey dovey and laid back.. while female seem to be more independent and moody.

    Males.
Only because I've never owned a female dog in my life so I can't compare the two...

I honestly prefer male dogs. In my experience they're more clingy, cuddly and willing to please than the females. Females are more serious and independent. However, I do think it depends on the individual dog, *shrugs* for some reason I still prefer males. Also living with three females and two males the girls get into little squabbles and fights muuuuuuuuch more often than the boys.

My mom absolutley despises male dogs so the only males in the house are my dogs that I take care of and pay for. If it was up to her she wouldn't own a single male. In her mind thier all marking machines even though our girls seem to mark much more than the boys.
