Never mind claw clipping. Zerlina protests when she's BRUSHED. She doesn't like to be confined, even when it's just in Mom's arms.

Clipping a cats claws CAN hurt if you don't use the right ones. The guillotene type is the best (in my opinion). They also much be sharp. If they're not, you cat's claw will splinter. If you use regular human nail clippers, it can pinch the claw and make it uncomfortable for them.

I am another who dreads the nail clipping!! Sometimes I wonder if the neighbors can hear the screaming. It sounds like it hurts but I know that they are just protesting the confinement.

jenluckenbach - do you still have the link to your tutorial?? I know that I still use your method and it helps. Catnapper also sent me some close-ups of Pouncer's nails to show me how far up I should be clipping. Do you have those Kim??

Hope your nail clipping is going better dionne. I hate this chore also and have to do it in short sessions, leaving my screamers until last

My cat hated to have his nails clipped because he was front declawed before I got him and he is very protective of his feet. I also think nail clipping offends their dignity which is a cat's most prized possesion!
