Oh my, I am so glad you spotted this little one! Poor baby - did they check for a microchip at the vet?
My prayers are with this sweetie. I know you will do your best for him/her, Rhi. I am so glad to read that s/he is eating!!![]()

Thanks everyone.
Well... turns out Willow was actually a male and named Smokey, a different vet checked for a microchip and found one. He is 15.5 years old, has a tumor on his shoulder and has some memory loss and is allowed to roam.
The owners said he will often wander off and be missing for a week, and then return home again. Their vet has said in the past that he should have died 5 years ago (They thought he would not survive this long) when they found the tumor, but he keeps on kicking.
I am glad he got to go home though, and hope he will be happy and pain free for his remaining time on earth.

Awww! That is wonderful that he had owners that wanted him back. I had a feeling that was the case. 15 years old?WOW! Poor baby with all those problems. Thank God you cared enough to stop and pick him up and he was able to find his way back home. I am sure you made his owner very happy!

WOW!! I am glad you found his owners, but what kind of a person allows a cat with a tumor, poor health and memory loss to just wander off??? That just makes me mad! I just cant believe it! I m glad that you were able to get him back on his feet! not sure how long that will last if his owners just let him run off again. You have a very generous heart! Smokey will remember his savior, I am sure!
Maggie,
I didn't slap you, I just high fived your Face!I've Been Boo'd!!
I've missed this thread but I just wanted to say how wonderful it was that you took him in and did so much for him. It's great that his owners were found but I really hope someone pointed out to them that he shouldn't be allowed to roam anymore, poor old guy.
I know it's been explained but I just wanted to chime in on what Laura's Babies said, as I started reading this thread I too was thinking how sad that this cat might die after finally being rescued into a good home. I wasn't thinking that you were the cause, just that it was a shame now that he had a good chance he wasn't strong enough to make it and enjoy life with you.
Anyway, kudos to you and your mom for helping him! We need more people like that in the world!

I wonder if the vet can contact the owners and ask if they would let him go to another home. He didn't get skinny and matted over a few days.
It never hurts to ask.

I am glad he got to be reunited (but I must admit quite a bot ofthinking that he'll be out roaming again tomorrow
)
Best of luck to you Smokey!
.
You deserve lots of praise for what you did!! However, the " owner " needs to rethink that old Smokey roams and does not come home for a few days, considering his condition!!! I a way, I was hoping that you would be able to keep the cat!!! I hope Smokey's owner will act in a more responsible fashion!

I"m glad you have found out the story on this amazing cat!
You're incredibly kind, for what you have done!![]()
