I haven't seen or heard the kitten since yesterday morning. I walked around last night and my neighbours haven't seen it either.
Someone mentioned to me that maybe the kitten has a home and just escaped that morning. That would make sense since it looked clean and that's why it was so frantic running around and meowing yesterday.
I'm hoping it is in a safe place now. I'll leave food out a couple more nights just in case. Thanks everyone for your responses.
