I don't think Frontline repels ticks, it just kills them later. I would remove the ticks as soon as you see them, you don't want to risk your dogs getting any diseases. You could switch to another brand of flea/tick control, I think Advantix is supposed to repel ticks too if used once a month.

Advantix is great, from what I've heard anyways. But if you are planning on using it on your animals, everyone please be aware that it can cause serious problems even death in cats. If you have cats or are aroudn cats please make sure they do NOT come into contact with eachother until it is COMPLETELY dry.

I'd love to try it as I do so much traveling, hiking, camping but it's not worth the risks that it can cause to my cats.
