    congrats to you! I still think that is a dream job to have!

    I passed our companys "wellness screening" we did at the company meeting too... Only comment they had was I need to loose 10 to 20 pounds and quit smoking. (I had already set a goal to quit the cig's this year)

    The doc told me that I can afford to lose some pounds, also. This coming January 31st will mark the 24th annivesary of my quitting smoking. BTW, I stopped at Godwill yesterday and bought a RCA stereo with a three CD disc changer for $6.98. Works perfect!

    Well, be sure to let us know when you start! Does this mean that you're not going to work at the golf course anymore?

    CONGRATULATIONS DAVID!

    You may like that better than your grounds keeping job! At least it should be year round.

    Connie, I have been thinking about that. At 57 I might be getting a might too old to do outside physical labor with my artifical knee and every year it gets tougher. I'll see if I like this better and go on from there. Maybe 44 years at the same golf course is a little TOO long!

    You need to check out the Goodwill job for a while ...
    * Is it going to be permanent and full-time?
    * Will the pay be equal to or better than the Golf Course pay?
    * What are your "seniority rights" in case of a staff layoff?

    Once you have a feel for the Goodwill job;
    then it's time to "talk" to the Golf Course ...

    Ask to meet with your supervisor and have a frank discussion about your history
    with the Golf Course (44 years of dedicated service) and your future with them.
    You need to know how they plan to treat you as you "age" and possibly begin to have trouble doing the physical parts of your job. Do they have a lighter-duty or less strenuous job lined up for you?

    Hopefully your Boss will be honest with you.
