I taught him by pulling out the couch from the wall making a little path and starting at one end and walking towards him (telling him to Beep Beep of course) and once he got the hang of that I stopped moving. Eventually we didn't need to do it behind the couch anymoreand it only took him a day or so to get really good at it!
