You will all be in our prayers - perhaps as well as posting here on Pet Talk (thank you!), your local paper could do a story - those don't LOOOK like any rat poison I've ever seen, and people need to be educated, especially as they look like children's toys!

Oh my heart goes out to you. I can relate... just a few months ago Kaige got into rat poison that my work put out. If you need anything at all pm or email me.

Its such a scary experience. I'm glad that you caught it early. I too have never seen poison like that. It looks almost like an odd shaped greenie or the like.

I hope the ruppers have a complete & speedy recovery.

And remember folks its not just the poison alone that can hurt/kill your pets, they can also eat a dead rat/mouse etc.. that died from the poison & get poisoned that way too.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

How scary for you!! You and your dogs will certainly be in our thoughts.
Thankyou for sharing this experience with us, so that we are all more aware.

A few years ago, my friend;s German Shepherd found some rat posion and they did not knowit for a few days. ( I think she may have even started bleeding fromher nose or mouth). Anyway, they took her in for the treatments, and she receovered with no lasting effects. I am confident the outcome will be the same for your dogs!!

    Thanks everyone.

Lucee threw up a total of 3 times last night. Poor girl.

Tom called the vet this morning and she said they wouldn't give Lucee any more charcoal, just to feed her this morning and give her the K1 and then see how she does.

They can only go on leashed walks, no running around, they might get hurt and then they would bleed more than normal. So they are at the park now with Tom and Nina has pooped. BLACK, Lucee pooped at home before they left, BLACK. So that's good, she did keep some of it in her. Nothing from Ashlee yet. She hates being on leash to do her thing.

I called they lady across the st this morning that feeds the squirrels, (&the rats). She said she would not put any more peanuts or food out for them. I told her that 2 have died already from the rat bait. She wants the stray cats trapped and hauled off. But I tried to explain to her that we are asking the birds, mice, rats and squirrels over to feed at her house so the cats will come. Just let nature alone. It will take a long time for everyone to stop going to her house for food, and they can find another just like hers down the st. But for now I think we are on the right track.

Tom is staying home from work to watch the girls today and maybe tomorrow too. Then I'm on vacation till Jan. 17th so I'll be able to watch them.

I will keep you all posted. Thanks so much for your prayers and good thoughts. I don't know all of you that have posted and we aren't on here that much any more but all I can say it THANK YOU.
