I Sooooo Hope His Family Is Out There And Is Looking For Him. Who Could Ever Lose A Precious Little Angel Like That?? Just Look At Taht Face! I Am In Love!
You And Your Boyfriend Were Soooo Nice To Rescue Him Off The Street. Thank You!!! Do You Think You'd Keep Him If His Owners Don't Come And Get Him? Please Keep Us Posted. I Just Hope The People Who Lost Him, Lost Him For A Good Reason. I'd Hate To See Him Going Home To An Irresponsible Family!!!
Gosh, Fenway Could Use A Baby Brother!!!
Thanks Again For Saving Him. I'm Glad You Found Him.
Well I called and called the vet this morning, left a message with the ID code.
I got a VERY rude callback from this guy - he was actually YELLING at me for calling him too much. He said: "You can keep calling and calling but it won't make any difference - I get into the office at 10:30 and I'll look the number up for you then. Goodbye."
What a jerk! If I had a dog, I certainly WOULDN'T take it to HIM.
I'm sure at least the dog appreciates that I saved him, even if his vet is a ****

Are you serious!!??? What a jerk! I would tell the owners what he said! If I found out my vet acted like that, I'd kick him to the curb! What a SOB!!!

Well I thought about that - but no I wouldn't keep him. I am a firm believer that a dog needs a yard to run around in, and he just can't get that in this Condo complex.
This morning he woke me up at 4:00 AM to go out, and he peed once. Then he woke me up at 4:30 am to go out again - he had to poo that time
No thanks. I figured out I don't want a dog right now - My reptiles are good enough for me.

Oh what a sweet little guy!
I would tell the owners about how rude the vet was, maybe they will change vets! I sure know I would if my vet spoke to someone that saved my dogs life!
I can't wait to hear about the happy reunion once you speak to his owners!
He's an adorable little guy and I hope you can reunite him with his family soon, I'm sure they're missing one another.
That vet truly does sound like I jerk![]()

Oh, and now the jerk is playing games with me. He said he would look it up at 10:30 when he got into the office.
Well, it's 11:00 now, and not a word from him. I called and left another message.
I hope his owners ditch him as a vet - he's HORRIBLE. No concern for the animal's well being at ALL. If he was concerned, he would've called me by now, don't you think? But no - he's got to play his little mind games.
People like this disgust me. At least I know who not to go to when I finally do get a dog.

And yes - I'm serious. I do plan on telling his owners exactly how their vet acted. I hope they don't go to him anymore. He's a total jerk.Originally Posted by elizabethann

I hope his owners aren't like that. Poor little guy.

I finally heard back from Animal Control - I called them today to ask what ever happened with Benji.
The lady was very nice - she told me the current owners were not the dog's first family. Apparently, the old tag had never been removed from the original owners, and the dog was abused by them. They also used to take the dog to that Vet who was a real jerk. It might explain his attitude, but what right does he have to assume? I still think I should report him for not being a good Vet.
The dog came to the current owners because one of their relatives rescued him and gave him to them. Apparently, the current owner's husband was out grilling dinner, and Benji got out and ran off. She actually saw me carrying a dog because she was driving in. She couldn't see any details because it was nighttime and she didn't think anything of it because she didn't know Benji had gotten loose. When she got home her husband told her.
I had gone back up to the area I found him and skirted around a bit, but never saw her. The animal control agent told me she held the dog all day and his owner came to pick him up last night. So he is safely home. And the owner knows all about that awful Vet. Needless to say she's never been to that Vet, and she won't be starting - that's for sure.
I'd love to bump into Benji again - some day when I'm taking a walk, perhaps I will.![]()

What a sweetheart! Thank you for taking him in.He is precious.
OMGosh... if my vet said that i'd certainly get rid of him. That's disgusting. I'd want to know RIGHT away and i'd hope that my vet knows better than to wait on something like that, I'm sure the pup's owners were beside themselves.![]()
Glad he's home and safe now.

I'm so glad you went to all that trouble to find the little dog's owners. If you are able to go see them some day, please strongly encourage them to put a new tag on the dog's collar, with their address and/or phone number. If the dog gets away again, it might not be so lucky the next time to be found someone like you.
