i dont think i could every do that to sophie, she is a rough blue merle collie and the only time she barks is when she sees a squirrel, cat, or another dog. other than that she just whines alot for attention or hungry or gotta potty. She is a good girl and i hope collies are good with Chihuahua's. we sneaked a kitty in last week and kept in my bedroom for a few hours. Sohpie would not stop sniffin the poor kitty. she didnt bark at it at all, just sniffed it and the kitty just slept knowin my dog was no threat. She has been great around other dogs and she loves givin hugs and kisses or just likes to cuddle.
