I love them too, but not for their speed, for their tameness. They have been being sort of tamed off an on since the ride of the ancient egyptian empire, and have you seen the king mutations where the spotts blot together in sort of lines?? COOL! In Namibia they are breeding Anatolian Shepherds and giving them out to local farmers for free telling them this dog will defend your livestock with its life, don't kill the cheetahs, and it is working! The Anatolians are happy and the cheetahs are living!
BTW, they can only maintain that top speed for a few hundred yards before collapsing into a voulnerable state.
