The dogs should have been spayed and neutered, and, kept in crates. I think, too, that she had good intentions. She just doesn't sound overly educated. She also sounds completely confused. Like she wants to defend the breed, which I think is good of her. But, the fact that she doesn't regret anything about that day, makes me worry. Sad situation all around. Maybe banning that family from having dogs again (and any more children) would be the answer.
