I notice a few people mention the Mayflower. It's funny but only recently have Australians felt comfortable with mentioning that they were related to a First Fleeter, the majority of the First Fleet being convicts of course. People would deny their heritage with their dyinbg breath that admit they were related to a convict. Some of those very same convicts not only became pillars of society, but helped shaped the country to what it is today, and fortunately I feel, nowadays people wear there "First Fleet convict" tag very proudly. History can be a facsinating thing. Our familys ultimate ancestor (as far back as we've been able to go) was eventually beheaded by the Duke of Cumberland, for fighting alongside the Jacobites. He had his head stuck on a pike evidently.
