RedHedd, my cat lingo was a little off when I named her-I was confused on the difference between Calico and Tabby. I thought she was a calico and decided Callie the calico would be cute, however my husband and myself are also from California so he says her name is Callie for CA. He claims since he found her she was his to name, but went ahead and stayed with the original name.
