My mom and dad couldn't agree on a name for me, and they were still arguing about it days before my birth. My dad wanted to name me Kizzie. (I'm NOT kidding!) Can you imagine!? Thank you, Mom, for putting your foot down on THAT one!!!
My mom had gotten a box of apples from the grocery store. Yes, back in the dinosaur age, when you got fruit in wooden boxes or baskets. The label on the box said "Shanna Apples", and my mom said, "Ok, how about Shanna?" My dad said, "Fine. Whatever."
And that is how I came to be named after a brand of apples.
