Please realize that most of my knowledge is cat oriented, but my first suggestion is getting a urine sample to the vet. It sure can't hurt, and it has to be easier to get a sample froma dog than from a cat. LOL.
Along with inappropriate peeing there is usually frequent attempts to pee and possibly some pain associated with it.
