I really don't want to be a drama queen here - but my tree is gone.

It took six men 6 1/2 hours to chop it down - remove the stump - and clean up after themselves.

My yard at least to me looks "nude"...................the sun is blazing on everything including my office.

Yesterday I measured the trunk of the tree and it was 8 feet around. If two of me tried to hug the tree - we could barely have wrapped our arms around it and touched fingers.

Connie, what a beautiful thought - my tree has crossed over the Bridge and all of my pets who loved it too are now once again playing in it and under it.
Patches (R/B) loved this tree - and she could climb it in a flash and would jump from branch to branch showing off her dexterity. That is one of my favorite memories - she could back down the trunk just as rapidly as she climbed it. Even though my heart was in my throat every time she did this.

My other favorite memory of my tree - well, I will have to post the picture for you. In the fall I would rake leaves and the tree would just laugh - shake itself a little - and my yard would be covered in beautiful orange leaves once again.

A 30 year love affair has ended - but life goes on - change must be accepted.

Skip the coffee - and thanks everyone for the Bailey's!!
