If I understand this right Solo wont keep the fluffy fur? The pups lose that?

Yep, he'll lose his puppy coat gradually. The adult coat basically grows over top of the puppy coat. Loki is 9 months old and still has a soft fluffy puppy coat underneath his adult topcoat.
