In addition to my appreciation for the practical aspects of Bufford's job as a therapy dog in the school, his story warms my heart.
He reminds me a great deal of a Boxer who once owned me. Before going on to his greater reward, Duke was my buddy, my companion, my friend, my protector and he will live in my heart forever.
Blessings upon you, Dear Bufford, and thanks for all you're doing for the children who need you and who benefit from your love.
Thanks also to the very wise people who initiated the in-school Therapy Dog program.

Bufford you totally rock!! What a cool boy you are - and so smart with your very own job. I would have loved to go to your school. What a wonderful loving touch you give to all your students - those with developmental and behavioral problems and those who are just suffering through the sometimes sad time of high school. This is one of those stories that warms the heart, for sure, Bufford. What an extraordinary dog you are, with such a big job! I can tell that you are a blessing to anyone who meets you and has the opportunity to greet you each day. To be such a young guy and to have succeeded in making such a huge difference to these young people, is amazing!! When I read that there had been a 90% decrease in negative behavior since you have been on the scene, I wished for more dogs like you, Bufford, around our country, working in classrooms. Kudos to you and your human, who obviously has spent countless hours training you, and then enjoying the fruits of her labor.

Congratulations to our precious Boxer Boy, Bufford, on being the Dog of the Day, everyday, in the lives of so many!!!!! You are a blessing to me, for sure!!!!

What a beautiful dog! I can't get over his piggyback rides! I too have a big 80+lb boy...(a weimie) and cannot imagine that!
