Am I going to have to rebuild trust with my rat?

As some of you may know, I lost Chester this morning. He wasn't in his cage. Zoe found him and I caught him. Now, in another cage, he won't go near my hand and he won't take his favorite, Cheeze Its, from my hand... he never turns those down and often tries to take the other two rat's crackers. Am I going to have to start all over with Chester, rebuilding trust between him and I? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I think he's just having a litte ratty tempter tantrum ;) Frisco used to do that all the time. He wouldn't come near me, and he wouldn't take food, and whenever I stuck my hand in he would stand on his hind legs and puch my hand away with his paws lol. It only took him a while to calm down.

If that's not the case, that would really suck if you had to rebuild his trust....
