  1. Many of these pictures you see elsewhere in these albums. Cats together, and also some cat collages I did. I say, "of mine" because I'm considering adding an album of pictures of cats who are not mine. In any event, I plan to add photos to all of these albums from time to time; they are definitely not complete.

  2. Having too many pictures to deal with, it's easier for me to just upload some of my recent favorites. As I write this, I have 4 cats who are now all grown. Koji, Miette, Cami and Tyli are all represented here.

  3. Koji was being neglected by my neighbors when I realized his neediness had become extreme. He was unneutered, out all of the time and in the below-freezing temperatures, begging for food, attention and affection. A few times, I tried to tell them how to care for their pets, but... I won't go into all that unless you want to know. When I brought him into my house, Koji became healthy, affectionate, and was well loved by Miette, Tyli, and Cami. Cami loved to give Koji neck and back massages while serenading him with her loud purr. He was also playful and good with C.B. to the end of C.B.'s life. Koji loved all the people he ever met including everyone at the vet clinic. Sadly, Koji had massive heart failure in December of 2018 and had to be put to sleep. I'll always miss him!

  4. Like my Koji, the neighbors ignored and never really took care of Tab (see Koji's story). After years of their neglect, I finally decided he needed a home when I saw him limping, which he quickly got over in a few hours at the vet. I then gave him to friend of mine. Tab was a great cat: affectionate, laid back, considerate, attentive. My friend, Beth, said he was the best cat she ever had. In Nov. 2012, Beth passed away. This time, I learned that it really takes serious bites to pass along FIV, so I gave up trying to give Tab away again. When I initially wrote this, it was the beginning of 2013 and he was at the vet healing from serious dental surgery, which went fine. I did whatever I could to get him healthy. He never stopped being sweet and affectionate. Despite how hard his life had been for many years before, Tab deserved love, food (he was a big fan of food), warmth and comfort. I'm sad that my sweet friend, Beth is gone and miss her terribly, but I was happy to have Tab as my own. Tab got along okay with my 5 other cats except for a few very minor food disputes. He exhibited various health problems, but was usually treatable and showed definite improvement. In the summer of 2013, Tab's condition took a turn for the worse, indicating his FIV had become Feline Aids. When he collapsed, it was evident that his illness reached a point of incapacitating him and sadly, I had to have him put to sleep. I cried bitterly. I'll never forget Tab nor any of my others who have passed, but I'll always be glad for the time I had with them and all I'd learned from those experiences.

  5. On June 30, 2009, I was at an adoption center for the local Humane Society where I had decided to take photos of their cats. On delivering the disk, a young woman was there who had brought in this very small, (though no longer blue-eyed) kitten she found under a car at a shopping center. The adoption facility does not do intake, and just like that, I said I'd take her. I couldn't stand that she'd end up going to Animal Control and through a long system before getting a home. Besides, I was considering adopting a second female cat anyway. I gave her several baths and a name I'd kept in mind since finding it at a baby-names site years ago. Miette grew up to be sweet, playful, funny, and very lovable. She's the only cat I've ever had who sometimes plays fetch, bringing me her toy so I can throw it for her to chase and bring back again and again.

  6. I brought in these sweet tortie sisters around early September of 2011. They were about 2 months old or less, had infected eyes, and were being fed by a neighbor. My intention was to get them well and ready for adoption, but Miette, then Koji and I fell in love with them, so they're here to stay. Even Cato enjoyed cuddling with them at times. Cami is short for Camellia and Tyli is short for Tiger Lily. What a beautiful kitten bouquet; they are a joy! Update: Cami passed away on 8/21/19. She was extremely affectionate. Tyli passed away on 9/25/20. She was a unique beauty and very sweet. It seemed obvious that both of them shared the same illness, which I believe may have been genetic or contracted at birth. I will love and miss them forever!!

  7. My late husband, Danny & I adopted Serena from the our local shelter on May 22, 1999. The first time I ever held her I was startled by the most beautiful eyes I'd ever seen in a cat: pale yellow-gold with bright green in distinct rings around her pupils. Serena's name at the shelter was "Shadow" and she had been surrendered with her mother and brother. For some time, she'd hiss at me when I'd put my face near hers, but she NEVER hissed at Danny, she'd lick his forehead. Always a clever cat, Serena became even sweeter and smarter with age (too many stories to write here). Towards the end she'd learned to tolerate the other cats much better and was affectionate with me. On Saturday, May 17, 2017 the weakened state Serena had been in suddenly escalated and she was obviously in pain. I brought her to the emergency vet clinic and her condition declined further to where her misery was so obvious, it was time to let her go. I'll always miss my beautiful Serena and hope she'll be with Danny now.

  8. I miss them and will always remember them, C.B. & Cato, and all my departed cats with love. Their stories are in the captions of the pictures.

  9. Cato and C.B. Sophison were brothers born in the spring of 1992. Their mother was Sophie (hence the name "Sophison." Well, why can't cats have their own family names?) C.B. means "Cato's Brother" but could also be "cream & butter" which suited his coloring and his soft, loving personality. He would often get under the blanket when I went to sleep and I could adjust him as well as if he were a teddy bear. Cato also craved affection, clinging when held. He was often very loud and persistent, sometimes saying "hullo?" He was quite a character! Towards the end, C.B. had cancer. He did well on radiation treatments until he had to be euthanized in June of 2010. He was a very sweet, loving companion and I'll miss him always. Cato took a turn for the worst about a year later and sadly, needed to be put to sleep November 3, 2011 at the age of 19 and a half years old. He had a unique personality and was well-liked by anyone who knew him. I will miss and love him forever, too.
