|American Crested Guinea Pig
|Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA
This is Pepper, my American Crested Guinea Pig - you can see her crest best in her second photo. In humans we would probably call it a cowlick! Pepper is a popcorning machine. that is all she does, well aside from laying and tumbling in her blanket. Popcorning, if you are not familiar with the term, is when guinea pigs jump striaght up, or jump and twist around, or just hop around all for fun. It looks so cute!
Pepper reminds me of a black bear as when she wakes up: she is groggy and slow, like a bear coming out of hibernation in the spring. She is a chatty girl, and chittering and squeaking are the noises she makes ALL the time! I love Pepper!
I named her Pepper or sometimes call her Popper, but before, when I got her my little sisters wanted to name her Unique Fashion Style, and I was like "No," So I named her Pepper and that stuck. She wants to be friends with my other guinea pig, but so far the older one hates her, which is sad.
She likes to play tickle, I swiftly and gently rub my fingers on her back and she goes nuts, purring and popcorning everywhere. But most of all she loved to run around and popcorn vigorously.
