This
is my Sulcata tortoise, Regis. Sulcatas are from Africa and are
the third largest species of tortoises in the world! When Regis is
fully grown, he will be around two feet long and weigh 100+ pounds!
That's a lot of tortoise!
Regis is an extremely friendly and smart tortoise. He eats from my
hand which shows his gentle nature, and he even comes when I call him!
He loves to go outside and graze on grass, dandelions, and clover
during the summer. His main diet is made up of different grasses, but
once a month I usually give him some carrots or strawberries as a treat.
Tortoises and turtles are great pets to have and having Regis makes me
realize this more each day. He has a lot of character, and can always
make me smile.
