I
bought Buddy three and half years ago. He was scheduled to be
slaughtered in one or two days. He had apparently been in some type of
accident at some point. He had facial nerve damage that made him have a
severely crooked top lip. He had been neglected, was underweight, and
afraid of almost everything. I don't know why, but I fell in love with
him the moment I saw him. I think it was that he had such loving/kind
eyes. I bought him and began to care for and train him. Within six
months, his lip straightened out, he had put weight on, his muscles were
toned, and he was being ridden almost every day. These pictures were
taken nearly a year after I bought him. Today Buddy is more beautiful
than ever and a very well-trained horse. I've been told he is just like
a huge puppy, because he follows me around, comes on command, etc.
Someone really missed out by not taking care of him. All it took was
some love and patience. I now have a great horse who will always be my
"Buddy."
