I got home from vacation last night and my cat, Oreo, that had lived with us for 13 years had died. the vet said she had a heart attack.
I am so sad, i can't stop crying. I don't know what to do to get out of this pain. I am also so sad for my mom. Oreo lived with her and i am so afraid she will be lonely.

I moved this thread into Cat Memorial, which is where it belongs. Rest in peace, Oreo. I am sure she died knowing she was a loved cat. Talk to your mom, maybe both write down little stories of your favorite Oreo moments, to have a sort of remembrance of her.

Here at Pet Talk we almost unanimously believe in this place.
I hope it gives you the comfort that we have found in it.
Hold tight to your memories of Oreo, and the pain will diminish, with time.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I am here today to post a memorial for one of our cats, when I read about Oreo. The pain you feel right now seems very hard to bear, but the good memories you have will help ease it. Oreo will always be with you, and her love will always surround you. RIP Oreo.

THAT,IS TRULY SAD TO COME HOME,FROM A VACATION,TO FIND OUT,THAT YOUR PET HAD PASSED ON.
OREO,WAS A LITTLE TREASURE,AND I KNOW,THAT THERE IS A VOID,NOW,IN YOUR MOTHERS HEART,AND ALL THOSE,WHO KNEW,AND LOVED OREO.
WE,ARE GOING,TO A CHINESE BUFFET,TODAY,AND MY ANGELS,WOULD BE PLEASED,TO MEET OREO,AND BE OREOS ESCORT.
ITS A SHAME,THAT OREO,PASSED ON WHILE YOU WERE AWAY,AND YOU MISSED SAYING GOODBYE.
BUT SHE MISSES YOU,AND YOU WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN,ONE FINE DAY.
