My friends dog jumped the fence this morning and got into some rat poison...
It is Shady (Morgan's sister for anyone who remembers her). The people had wrapped the poison in hamburger meat, I guess to entice the rats/mice more. She went looking for her as soon as she no longer saw she was in the yard. And she noticed that Shady wasn't acting right and took her straight to the vet.

All I know right now is that they are working dilligently to make her ok.

Here are some pictures of her when she was a baby with Morgan:

And some newer ones.
Her with their other pup:

And her at the vets office with black stuff on her face:

Any good thoughts or prayers would be appreciated.. This just brings back so many memories of Felony, and of course Shady also has a special place in my heart.

Prayers going out for Shady. Just to let you know, I know of three other dogs that have gotten into rat poison, and although it is scary and a rather long treatment, they all recovered fully.

The picture I posted in my previous post with black stuff on her face was taken right before she had a bad seizure.. They gave her some valium to calm her down, and shes staying at the vets office.. That's pretty much all I know. So please continue to think good thoughts for this precious girl.

Here's another one once she calmed down from the valium.

I just talked to my friends and she said that the vet called her this morning to let her know that Shady didn't have any seizures last night at all and they are sending her home this afternoon. She was doped up on valium.
She's doing a lot better.

They advised to keep a close eye on her for several days to make sure there isn't going to be any other affects from it.

OH my goodness!! Poor thing. :(
Years ago, my friends Rottie got into poison and I helped her take her to the vet while my mom stayed with her children. They gave her the activated charcoal and sent her home. It sounds like this pup probably had a worse case, having had a seizure. But my friends dog....we later found out she was pregnant!!! She had 4 or 5 puppies, but only one made it.
I'm glad it sounds like she is going to be fine. :)
