Peanuts, i was about 8 when you died.
There was nothing wrong with you.
You were 18 years old, your teeth had packed up and gone
your whiskers had falllen out
all you used to do was sit there and snore on the sofa.
your claws were weak and couldnt hurt a soul if you tried.
but you never tried.
before i was even born, you were there.
i bet you remember because i certainly dont,
when you used to always share your felix cat food
with the fox that used to live with you in my mums house in kingston?
you always left half for that fox.
so we put out more for the fox so you could eat together.
i used to talk to you.
maybe it was childish, maybe im just crazy, but i thought you talked to me too.
We took you too the vet to see if it were kinder,
you know, just to let you go the the rainbow bridge then,
but the vet said no that you were fine
and we got another year out of you didnt we buddy?
we certainly did.
i remember waking up,
getting dressed,
refusing to brish my teeth as per usual,
i went downstairs,
mum was crying,
you were just led there on the sofa,
just like i had left you sleeping the night before,
only you werent breathing anymore
but you still had that funny cat smile you always did
a few hours later,
mum took the baby blanket you used to sleep on,
the one that had been in my crib before,
kissed your little head,
then wrapped you up safe and sound,
that tree stump you always sat on?
we lifted it, dug a hole,
then gently placed you in it,
we all waved goodbye,
mum could barely speak.
we replaced the trre stump,
i made a little clay model of you,
then placed it on your grave with the flowers you played in,
i sat with you for a while.
i would talk to you.
but you couldnt 'talk' back liek you used to,
in years i came to understand that,
now the stump is gone,
we dont live there anymore,
but i hope that you are still there,
no,
i hope you are playing happily at rainbow bridge now.
I still love you Peanuts.
i still have your tag from the collar you wore when you were just 6 weeks old.
'Peanuts '
I miss you buddy.
but your still in my heart.
heck, you always will be, along with blue, sweetie, mogue, yang and moth.
and lets not forget Purple.

Peanut sounded like a very special member of your family

peanutS (sorry its not just Peanut its peanuts) was a VERY special member of the family. he saw two children grow up, and moved from 2 houses, caught frogs in a pond, lived in surrey and shared his dinner with a fox, a squirrel and would catch mice, rabbits and frogs but refused to eat or kill them. he is still sorely missed.

Peanuts who is with the Pet Angel Army in exotic Tokoyo thanks you so much for your tribute. Shes showing that tribute to all of her Pet Friends and has Kitty LES.
Shes in charge of some of The Eternal Kittens and Puppies and like a Kindergarten Teacher makes sure they stay together and dont stary.
Peanuts is waiting for you and is making lists of places that you and All of Your Angel Companions will enjoy together.
One Fine Day.
